Flexible Intermediate Bulk Containers, BulkBags

Flexible Intermediate Bulk Containers also known as Bulkbags, can be a user friendly and environmentally safe solution to all your packaging needs at an affordable price.

Made from Polypropylene an environmentally safe and strong vinyl plastic developed in 1954 by Nobel Prize winner Giulio Natta. Bulkbags come in a range of sizes and types, and because of the strength and versatility of the product they can be re-used allowing the customer the choice of new or redundant bags and therefore giving more flexibility in pricing.

The flat bottom bag is used in applications that do not require a content emptying system such as the bottom valve or open bottom solution bags may be used in. The flat bottom bag must therefore be loaded and empted from the top of the bag to avoid damage being caused to the bag otherwise the bag would have to be slit from the bottom and this would most likely make recycling of the bag more difficult. The bottom valve bag and open bottom solution can be used for applications that require a content emptying system.

Bulkbags come in a variety of different types this includes the specification of the filling options available, please see the diagram to the left for different filling solutions. Each solution has its own uses depending on the application of the bag. For example the open top and skirt bags can be used for a wide variety of applications such as refractory products, quarry materials, plastics, scrape metals, etc. The tops of skirt bags can be tied allowing for safe and effective storage or transportation of products within the bag. The inlet spout solution and cone top are ideal for applications such as dust, and powder collection these bags are usually used for powdery substances, lime, talc and diatomaceous earth, the spouts come in a variety of sizes and can be filled with funnel like system's.

New vs Redundant (Used)

New

New Bulk Bag's have obviously never been used before and as with all bulk bags are made from a polypropylene fabric in a variety of different weight thickness depending on the application to which the bag will be used ( heavy or light materials). They are100% clean so there is no risk or worries, in the respect of cross contamination with products or produce and no worries with Heath & Safety. The end user very often appreciates nice new clean bags and can often be a good selling point in the way of presentation. All carry a test certificate that meets the correct standard. There is a multi trip that can be used up to a maximum of six times and a single trip bag this again depends on your application. F.I.B.C's can be ordered to any specification, shape, design, colour and size that you may require and if you wish with your own printed logo.

Redundant

This is an unfortunate name given to used F.I.B.Cs these are bags which cannot be used again for the same products such as food products because of health & safety regulations or virgin plastics as this can sometimes course cross contamination. At Liverpool BulkBags we are able to supply redundant bulk bags to people who deal in the likes of metallic's or people in the plastic regrind industries and can also be used as filter bags on plant or even for wood shaving or rubble where these issues would not be a problem. Liverpool BulkBags are able to purchase redundant bulk bags of any size and in any quantity. After purchasing such bulk bags we then inspect them all, for wear and tears in the fabric and inspect lifting loops for frays and breakage, the damaged bulk bags that do not meet the required standard are then carefully disposed of.
